As I’ve mentioned in the last post, I am sitting at home in self quarantine losing my mind. We’re currently at the top 5th. 6th and 7th place I’ve visited! Locations 5-7 hold a special place in my heart. They were all before kids and we were much more adventurous. We had no problem just hopping in a car in a foreign country and taking a drive to wherever the GPS took us! Enjoy!

LOCATION #7

If you ever visit Dubai, the best thing to bring with you is an Entertainment Book! You know, those books with all the coupons?! They were chock full of buy one, get one free coupons at super fancy restaurants and saved us a TON of money. It also had some pretty cool excursions, like driving recklessly through the desert in reinforced 4x4s. The Arabian Desert is unbelievably vast and amazing. I got terribly car sick by the end, but it was totally worth it. We ended the trip at a base camp deep in the desert. We rode camels, dressed in traditional garb, and ate local bbq. It was an experience of a lifetime!

LOCATION #6

These next two locations go hand in hand because they were part of the same trip and on the same day! When in Switzerland, we rented a car and literally just started driving. We randomly came upon Engelberg which had a lift to the Swiss Alps. It took about 45 minutes to get to the top through 2-3 lifts. Because we didn’t plan this, we were terrible unprepared at the peak. I was wearing jeans and chuck taylors with no jacket while people were wearing full winter gear and snow suits. I couldn’t even walk up a hill without pathetically sliding down it but my embarrassment was worth the views. Here is the website to the mountain if you ever want to check it out!

LOCATION #5

On our way back from Engelberg we kept on driving the “Swiss countryside” and happened upon some really amazing views. I have no clue where any of these are, and at one point we were on an extremely steep, 1 lane, 2 way traffic road that barely held the width of a car. But again absolutely amazing views and worth the drive!!!
