I’m sure you remember my trend board from the previous post. Now it’s time to take a look at my second favorite part of my home. THE KITCHEN!!!! With my crazy work habits and taking care of the little babushkas it leaves little time for cooking. That’s why coffee gets top honors and the kitchen is in ol’ second place.

We kept it super clean with Espresso color cabinets, white granite countertops and white carrara marble backsplash tiles. I dream of one day changing the cabinet hardware and faucet to brushed gold, but that’s not really my husband’s taste. =P The w…

We kept it super clean with Espresso color cabinets, white granite countertops and white carrara marble backsplash tiles. I dream of one day changing the cabinet hardware and faucet to brushed gold, but that’s not really my husband’s taste. =P The white countertop does a really good job of hiding crumbs, but the black cabinets show EVERYTHING. So if you are thinking about black cabinets, they are super slick, but require some light wiping down every few weeks. It’s also really easy to hide any chips with a Sharpie. Ha. That is not professional advice, please don’t color in your cabinets with a Sharpie.

I got the silicone & wood utensils at Crate and Barrel. They work pretty well but we definitely didn’t follow the proper directions on the handles. We pop these suckers in the dishwasher and they definitely show the wear and tear.

This corner of the house gets zero direct sunlight and the ambient light isn’t enough to sustain life. So although plastic plants are terrible for the environment, it will have to do for now! I do love the light seafoam-esque color of these plants. …
